A little story about these- I was in a dirty shell warehouse in southern Honshu, Japan, and these were offered to me. The proprietor told me that every once in a while, there would be a “flush” of these and word would go out, then senior citizens would go out to gather them at low tide. This was old stock and I was told that no one is collecting them anymore, as the area was bulkheaded against storms and the habitat was ruined. These are beautiful and many of them are matched pairs.
